Adhere to these 10 commandments for increased clinical impact:

1. 1Focus on a clinical problem.

4. 4Write a study protocol and make statistical analysis choices ahead of time.
5. 5Perform a sample size calculation to the best of your ability.
6. 6Focus on estimated differences/relationships instead of p-values.
7. 7Try to convey what relative risk measures mean in terms of absolute risks.
8. 8Review your study findings in the light of prior evidence.
9. 9Do not overstate your conclusions.
